Dress Code Changes

UNIFORMS

Memphis City Schools uniform policy will be enforced at Fairley High School.

The uniform consists of:

1. White collared shirts with no logos… long or short sleeves are acceptable. Undershirts must be any color except, red, blue, or purple. Shirts must be worn inside of pants (boys).


2.Pants/Bottoms must be navy blue, black, or khaki. Pants must be worn up on the waist with a belt to hold the shirt inside of pants….NO SAGGING!


3. Belts may be any color except red, blue, or purple. Bandanas cannot be used as belts.


4. Socks and shoestrings can NOT be red, blue, or purple. Sneakers/Tennis shoes cannot be solid red, blue, or purple. Bandanas cannot hang from pockets nor can they be worn as scarves or headbands.


5. Heels on ladies’ shoes cannot be higher than 1 ½ inches. Sandals may be worn, but they must have a heel strap. Flip-flops cannot be worn.


6. No hooded jackets may be worn. Jackets must be navy blue, black, or khaki colored. If students have jackets that contain other colors during very cold weather, the jackets must be placed in lockers or book bags, but are not to be worn on campus during the school day. Caps are not to be worn at school. They must be placed in lockers or in book bags. However, they cannot be red, blue, or purple.


7. During the cold season, students are allowed to wear sweaters or vests over their white collared shirts; however, those sweaters or vests may only be navy blue, black, or khaki.


8. ID badges are considered part of the uniform. They must be worn around the neck at all times while on campus. Students are in violation when the ID is not visible.


*Students will not be allowed to wear or have the following three colors in the building: red, blue, and purple. This includes hair accessories, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, undershirts, belts, socks, shoes, hats, shoestrings, book bags, etc.
