TUTORIAL MATH SYLLABUS
FIRST SIX WEEKS

Course Description: This course is designed to meet the individual needs of special need students in math.

During the first six week grading period, students should be able to:

Find the absolute value of a number.
Identify the opposite of a given integer.
Distinguish algebraic and numerical expressions.
Distinguish algebraic and numerical equations.
Distinguish constants, variables, coefficients, terms, and operations in expressions and equations.
Apply the order of operations when computing with integers using no more than two sets of grouping symbols and exponents 1 and 2.
Simplify algebraic and numerical expressions.
Use exponents to simplify a monomial written in expanded form.
Select the best estimate for a coordinate of a given point on a number line.


During the first six week grading period, the following activities and resources will be used:

Grades will be based on the following:

Class participation – daily assignments =70%
Homework assignments = 10%
Quizzes = 10%
Test/Projects = 10%
